AVP, Territory Leader (Midwest)
Zurich Insurance is currently hiring an AVP, Territory Leader for the Midwest, based out of Chicago or Wisconsin Virtual.
In this business-critical position, the AVP, Territory Leader will manage the relationships with our Global, National, and Regional Insurance Brokers and Agents to deliver profitable growth by selling a broad and differentiated suite of commercial insurance solutions.
The AVP, Territory Leader will be charged with acquiring detailed knowledge of Zurich’s top trading partners including the brokers’ business models and propositions and creating business plans that optimizes identified opportunities that are in alignment with organizational market basket strategies.
In this role, you will be an influential leader by driving the underwriting team towards reaching the area’s financial growth targets by keeping Zurich front of mind with the broker community.
You will market and communicate the long- term development of new revenue producing programs, field personnel and operational development through performance, financial and operations management, and special projects.
The position will incorporate the high efficiency solution-selling in support of business and field development. This position will be responsible for coaching and mentoring underwriting teams and plays a critical role as part of the Zurich regional leadership team.

Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Sales area
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Sales area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Sales area
- Leadership experience of multidisciplinary teams internally and externally
Preferred Qualifications :
- Strong understanding of the commercial insurance industry from a market and underwriting perspective
- Strong broker network in the Midwest Region, specifically Chicago and Wisconsin
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Experience creating long term revenue producing sales programs.
- Ability to execute effective sales strategies.
- Ability to identify business trends, changes in market conditions, and competitor activity.
- Experience in account underwriting and agent / broker negotiations.
