Our Surgical team is currently hiring a Nurse Practitioner . The NP practices in collaboration with the Attending Physician, as direct health care providers. Nurse Practitioners work with patients and their families to coordinate the delivery of the patient's care throughout hospitalization.

The General Surgery Nurse Practitioner provides consultation and support for patients and families throughout the medical-surgical units, the Emergency Department, Clinical Decision Unit and ICU. Each General Surgery NP is cross-trained to provide comprehensive cross-coverage for multiple surgical services within one year of employment. This includes, but is not limited to : bariatric, colorectal, plastics, thoracic, urology, and vascular surgery.

Hourly Rate : $55.00 - $69.00 / hour

Responsibilities :

• Obtaining health histories and performing physical examinations.
• Ordering appropriate diagnostic tests and treatment regimens.
• Providing medical education to the patient, family, nursing staff, as well as being available for consultations and crisis intervention.
• Working closely with the patient / significant others / families and all members of the multidisciplinary team to develop an appropriate plan of care and communicate it effectively.
• The Nurse Practitioner will practice within the guidelines of the written practice agreement and practice protocols.
