Payroll Tax Intern

GenScript is seeking a Full-Time HR Payroll Tax Intern to support payroll tax tasks.

This role is based onsite in Piscataway, NJ and is expected to last for a duration of 6+ months. The pay-rate is $25 - $26 per hour.

The schedule is Monday - Friday with 4 days onsite.

Key Responsibilities :

• Payroll relevant tax ID registration and account troubleshooting, including reporting and registration in new state of business, closure of account and reporting for states with no employees, review and audit current account ID and login information setups with the tax agencies and correct or re-open accounts if needed, maintain account ID and login tracker, and manage the account setups.
• Communicate with tax agencies via different channels (phone call, email, e-form, mail, etc.) and in regards to various matters, including
• Responding to government agency letters and notices.
• Participate in government audits, such as Census bureau questionnaires, BLS questionnaires, DOL questionnaires and forms, etc.
• Payment reconciliation and overpayment / delinquency investigations.
• Other ad-hoc tasks / Payroll backup as needed.
