ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Identify, evaluate, and audit potential suppliers.
- Negotiates quality, cost, and delivery requirements to meet company requirements.
- Understands commodity, and production requirements and can propose potential suppliers based on QCDM requirements.
- Prepare a request for a quote on packages to send to existing or potential suppliers to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Analyze each supplier's financial status / condition, including cost analysis, cost reduction analysis, history of spending, and cost reduction per supplier.
- Implements purchase contracts and T&Cs that comply with company and government regulations.
- Coordinates all activities related to the procurement of mechanical parts through localization of the assigned commodity.
- Audits potential suppliers and provides support to the SQDE team to create supplier roadmap and scorecard.
- Support (preparation and / or on-site) VA / VE, Value Stream Mapping activities to contribute to Material Ratio Goals.
- Participate in Various meetings to evaluate Supplier Performance and Projects designation.
- Support procurement functions and escalations at the manufacturing plant level to ensure the attainment of daily production goals (as directed / requested by Management)
- Promotes company, and departmental goals, and deadlines to the team, while assuring that actions are being taken in a timely manner to meet them.
- Effective project management that includes identification of key activities, milestones, events requirements, engineering drawings specifications, and responsibilities.
OTHER DUTIES
- Support daily issues that arise during customer service and production meetings.
- Support a monthly meeting with key suppliers.
- Support ALAP (Japan) communication as needed with AANA employees.
- Perform other related duties as required. Growth and Development.
QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE AND / OR TRAINING
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Supply Chain, and / or Industrial Engineering
- Three years of functional work experience in automotive purchasing.
- Supply Chain Certifications (desired).
- Equivalent Combination of Education & Experience.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred.
- Strong & effective communication and critical thinking skills required
- Knowledge of Supplier Development best practices
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Organizational and program management skills.
- LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid driver’s license
- Automotive Industry Certification (s) preferred not mandated (CPM, APICS).
