FUND ACCOUNTING MANAGER - RENEWABLE ENERGY
LOCATION : Alexandria, VA (4 days a week in-office)
SALARY : up-to 150K + 30% Bonus
Our client is the nation's leading owner-operator of residential community solar assets. They acquire, develop, construct, and operate solar energy and energy storage projects across the United States.
They are experience incredible growth, and need an experienced Fund Accounting Manager to join thier team!
Role and Responsibilities :
- Own the fund accounting process for all Joint Venture (JV) funds containing fully built out solar projects.
- Manage the third-party relationships with our outsourced accountants, who currently prepare the accounting for 20 funds, containing 100 completed projects.
- Build out processes and procedures related to our JV portfolio.
- Work with management to build out team, stop outsourcing additional funds, and begin insourcing fund accounting.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and monthly JV fund financials.
- Provide review comments to internal or third-party accountants.
- Import external trial balances and work to onboard third-party accounting into our consolidated ERP.
- Train and supervise accounting team members.
- Foster relationships with staff, suppliers, and vendors.
Required Skills / Competencies :
- 5 8 years of experience in external audit at Big 4 or large public accounting.
- Active CPA license or a candidate for licensure preferred.
- Experience in fund accounting, renewable energy, or real estate industries is preferable.
- Experience with technical accounting topics such as revenue recognition, leasing, capitalization, debt transactions, and consolidation.
