Job Overview :
We are seeking multiple experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for hospital-based locum tenens contracts starting between August and October 2025 . These are full-time positions with 3- to 6-month minimum commitments (with the option to extend), ideal for collaborative providers with Level 1 trauma experience.
Assignment Details :
Location : Maine Medical Center Portland, ME
Start Dates : Between August October 2025
Duration : Minimum 3 months; 6+ months preferred; potential to extend
Schedule : hours / week
Shift options : 7 30, 7 30, 9 30, 9 30, or 11 30
No overtime pay extra hours paid at regular rate
Standard breaks and unpaid lunch included
On-time end-of-day departures are typical

Setting : Level 1 Trauma Center
EMR : Epic
Operating Rooms : 50
Annual ER Volume : Over 60,000 visits / year
Avg Surgical Cases / Day : 100
Supervision Model : Medical direction billing with collaborative practice
Team Environment : Strong interprofessional support with an emphasis on respect and teamwork
Patient Demographic : Primarily adults; dedicated pediatric CRNA team handles peds cases
Credentialing Timeline : Approximately 120 days
Procedures Required :
General surgical cases (adult only)
Spinal anesthesia
Neurosurgical cases
Ventilation management
Local infiltration
CRNAs will NOT perform : Open hearts, regional blocks, central lines, OB, thoracic, or pediatric cases
Candidate Requirements :
Board Certified CRNA Required
BLS & ACLS Certifications Required (PALS optional)
Required (No new grads)
Active Maine license Highly preferred (will consider candidates needing licensure)
Must accept hourly rate cap of $280 / hour Required
