Site Superintendent
Basic Requirements : The position of Site Superintendent is a field-based position responsible for supervising labor and subcontractor crews, project schedule oversight, and proper allocation of resources. The Site Superintendent should demonstrate strong organization and problem-solving skills and excel at motivating the project team. This position reports primarily to the Project Manager.
Key responsibilities :
- Assist the Project Manager and / or Estimator with preconstruction and / or Prebid tasks as needed.
- Work with the project team to budget, forecast, and manage field personnel as well as management of labor, equipment, materials, tools, and other cost considerations.
- Understand, review, and manage plans, specifications, and manufacturer's literature and execute the project scope based upon all documentation.
- Manage project schedules for employees and subcontractors as needed while monitoring compliance with the overall project schedule and maintaining established milestones and deadlines.
- Source and prequalify subcontractors as directed and assign work accordingly.
- Maintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, reporting to management as necessary.
- Make suggestions / changes in the field operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines.
- Implement site management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient.
- Order necessary equipment, tools, rentals, and materials as needed.
- Makes sure all local, state, and national building codes and regulations are followed on each job site.
- Monitor job sites for adherence to OSHA regulations and take corrective action when violations are discovered.
- Ensure that the team adheres to all company policies and safety protocols.
- Work directly with the Project Manager, Architect, Engineer, and other design professionals as needed.
- Along with the project team, assist with the company’s quality control program.
- Attend and participate in project meetings with subcontractors.
- Assist with project closeout including punch lists, warranty / manufacturer manuals and compliance with local, state, and national building codes.
- A complete understanding of project timelines and commitments.
- Effective communication with subcontractors and material vendors.
- Ensure that materials are procured in a timely fashion to avoid delays.
- Understand subcontractor scopes of work and contract requirements.
- Enforce company policies pertaining to jobsite cleanliness.
