Radiology Technologist (PRN)
Frisco First Surgery Center is hiring for a PRN Radiology Technologist at our Plano TX 75024 location! The Radiology Technologist is responsible for operating X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment under the direction of the Medical
Director / Physician.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Assures that all materials and other required equipment, are present and in working order
- Select proper ionizing factors for radiologic diagnosis
- Positions patient, adjust equipment to obtain the best quality x-ray of the specific body area requested by physician
- Adjusts and sets radiographic controls, such as kilovoltage and milliamperage, to prescribed specifications for
proper timing of exposure
Set up and operate radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and / or treatment of patientsProtects patient and other personnel from radiation hazards, takes preventative steps to minimize radiationexposure
Regulates the length and intensity of film exposureImplements infection control procedures for the work areaConducts X-ray, checks X-ray for clarity of image, and retakes X-rays when neededDistributes films to appropriate medical staff and transfer images to electronic medical records (EMR)Maintains quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, andfacility policy
Performs radiographic procedures for patients in surgeryCleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs neededequipment
Maintains radiographic supplies, film, and equipmentFollows all safety rules, corrects minor safety hazards, reports all accidents promptly and communicates with peersand management regarding any hazards identified in the workplace
Protects patient and family privacy rights and maintains confidentiality of patient records in accordance with policyand procedure and HIPAA requirements
Adheres to the company standards of business conductPerforms other duties as assigned as per discretion of medical provider and facilityKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
Knowledge of human anatomyKnowledge of the principles and practices of diagnostic radiographic proceduresKnowledge of basic chemistry, film apparatus, and film processing techniquesKnowledge of how disease and injuries are diagnosed and imaged radiographicallyKnowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the workKnowledge of computer and relevant software applicationsStrong attention to detail, being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasksAbility to set up and operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipmentAbility to lift and position patients for the type of X-ray procedure requiredAbility to clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to equipmentAbility to comply with facility policies and procedures and continuing mandatory education programsHas self-control to maintain composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and avoiding aggressivebehavior, even in difficult situations
Ability to respond quickly, physically, and mentally when priorities and / or the patient's condition changesAbility to maintain a calm and helpful attitude, even under times of stress, and take appropriate and reasonablesteps to resolve issues
Ability to perform high quality radiology procedures according to exam protocol in a timely mannerAbility to adapt with flexibility, being open to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in theworkplace

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Associates Degree in Radiology StudiesLicensed by the Medical State Board of Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT)Certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)One (1) year of radiology experience in a healthcare facilityFrisco First Surgery Center in Plano, TX is an ambulatory surgery center specializing in providing high quality and safe patient care.
