About the Role

The Design Engineer I participates in controls engineering for projects in the material handling industry and others. The roles primary focus is electrical design in AutoCAD Electrical. Other tasks include panel checkouts, on-site I / O checks, etc. If you are passionate about controls & automation, self-motivated, and enjoy collaborative environments, this position is for you. This position reports to the Director of Controls Engineering.

In this role, you will

• Collaborate with project teams on creating and implementing electrical designs for MHE control systems
• Develop and complete accurate designs utilizing customer documentation, prior experience, and verbal guidance with minimal oversight
• Complete pre-commissioning checkouts at the panel shop
• Support commissioning systems : perform input / output (I / O) checks, configure devices, assist in functional testing and troubleshooting
• Help create training material and guides
• Develop an understanding of system hardware capabilities and requirements
• Travel up to 30% annually
