You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:

• Conduct seed germination testing Following AOSA and/or protocols. Conduct the testing using vacuum planting systems or manually and perform seedling evaluations.
• Data entry into LIMS database system.
• Prepare media for testing (towels, blotters, soil, etc.) following specific written procedures.
• Plant and maintain test seedlings under controlled environment.
• File daily samples and pull samples as needed.
• Perform lab maintenance routine tasks, such as wash bins, use dishwasher, keep work area and chambers clean, clean tools and equipment, etc.
• Cross-train in conducting germination testing following protocols in both seed lab and greenhouse setting.
• Prepare growth media, buffers and stock solutions for the culture of microorganisms following specific written procedures.
• Separate and process seed samples with an emphasis of maintaining sub-sample identity and consistency in sample preparation.
• Conduct seed health testing following established written work instructions.
• Complete any assigned projects in a timely, efficient, safe and effective manner.

To be considered, you will need:

- B.S. Degree in plant science, plant pathology, or biology is preferred, however, candidates with equivalent working experience will be considered.
- A working knowledge of seed quality testing on vegetable seeds will be an asset.
