Business Development Leader Advanced Battery Technology

Location : United States (Remote or Hybrid)

The Opportunity

A pioneering battery manufacturer is searching for a Business Development Leader to spearhead commercial growth across multiple high-value markets including electric vehicles, aerospace, defense, medical devices, and grid-scale storage.

This role is about more than just selling products, its about shaping strategy, building long-term partnerships, and helping bring breakthrough energy storage solutions to market.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Develop executive-level relationships with OEMs, tier-one suppliers, and strategic partners to unlock new revenue opportunities.
  • Position advanced cell technology through compelling business cases focused on performance, safety, and cost advantages.
  • Translate customer needs into actionable plans by collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and quality teams.
  • Take ownership of revenue targets, margin delivery, and market penetration goals.
  • Provide intelligence on pricing, competitors, and emerging industry trends to influence decision-making.
  • Drive cross-functional launches from concept to scale-up, ensuring projects hit milestones and budgets.
  • Negotiate and secure long-term agreements to establish lasting commercial frameworks.
  • Pinpoint emerging market segments and quantify opportunities using structured analysis.

Your Profile

  • Skilled at operating in fast-paced, complex environments where influencing without direct authority is key.
  • Proven record of managing large commercial pipelines (>
  • $50M) and leading complex deal negotiations.

  • Strong technical understanding of lithium-ion battery chemistry, system integration, BMS, and regulatory / safety frameworks.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related technical field; MBA or advanced degree desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in batteries, energy storage, or a closely related advanced technology sector.
