TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified NICU RN in Bismarck, North Dakota, 58501!

$2,182 per week

About The Position

Job Title : NICU Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Specialty : Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-Hour Days, Every Other Weekend

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum 1 year in NICU

License : RN License Required

Certifications : BLS, NRP

Must-Have :

2 years of NICU experience in a Level III or IV setting.

Ability to titrate drips, including antibiotics, multivitamins, iron, surfactant, TPN, and epinephrine.

Description :

The NICU provides care for a variety of neonatal conditions.

Common diagnoses include respiratory distress syndrome, small for gestational age, prematurity, hypoglycemia, and bilirubin issues.

The unit has 22 beds and operates on an open bed concept.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 2-3, with 4 for stable patients or feeder-growers.

Registered Nurses will attend deliveries for infants under 36 weeks gestation to assist with APGAR scores.

There is a charge nurse on each shift who also assumes patient assignments.

Neonatologists are available during the day, while neonatal nurse practitioners cover overnight shifts.

Respiratory equipment used includes bubble CPAP and ventilators.

Registered Nurses are encouraged to read cardiac strips, although it is not mandatory.

The unit requires weekend coverage every other weekend or every third weekend.

Holiday coverage is required for two holidays each year.

Registered Nurses may float to the Newborn nursery and pediatric units as needed.

Hospital-provided scrubs are required.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, a positive attitude, and a commitment to family-centered care.
