HVAC Controls Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

Envelop Group's internship program offers a combination of mentoring, learning activities, and field work designed to give broad exposure to the inner workings of HVAC and Building Automation. This paid internship is located in Indianapolis, IN with f lexible start and end dates from May to August 2026 . Interns must be available to work up to 40 hours per week, for at least 10 weeks .

What you'll do as an Engineering Intern under guidance from an experienced Engineer :

• Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics .
• Develop and test software programs necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirements.
• Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installations.
• Assist in loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers.
• Assist with validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems to ensure proper operation.
• Monitor system performance, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement or optimization.
• Conduct research on innovative technologies and strategies to enhance the functionality of systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Pre-hire requirements include a drug test and a background check.
