Job Summary :
The Controls Engineer will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving controls systems (PLCs, HMIs, etc.) at Client’s Pharmaceutical Glass facility. This position involves programming controllers, debugging equipment issues, implementing robust engineering solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance plant uptime and product quality.
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize controls systems (PLCs, HMIs, etc.) to ensure reliable equipment performance.
- Identify root causes of controls-related issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Support new equipment installations and commissioning activities.
- Plan and execute electrical improvements and resolve electrical problems.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to align with plant goals and priorities.
- Develop training materials, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide controls engineering support to cross-functional teams.
- Update and maintain engineering documentation and system drawings.
- Lead improvement projects and align all new systems with plant and corporate standards.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements and safe work practices.
Required Skills :
Proficiency in ladder logic programming with Allen Bradley PLCs (hands-on experience required).Strong understanding of control strategies and system integration.Proven problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.Knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation principles.Preferred Skills :
Experience in a manufacturing environment.Knowledge of measurements, optics, and automation systems.Familiarity with HMIs, SCADA systems, and Cognex cameras.Project management experience.Understanding of structured programming (VB .NET, C#, Java, Python).Networking and system communication knowledge.Education :
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related field (Bachelor’s required).
Experience :
Minimum 5 years of hands-on controls engineering experience.
