- Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

Responsibilities
- This position serves as the clinical leader responsible for operations and management of the ICU unit.
- The Charge Nurse assumes responsibility for shift operations such as making appropriate assignments, coordinating care, resolving issues, functioning as the resource nurse, participating in staffing decisions, rounding on patients, and maintaining TJC compliance.
- The Charge Nurse assumes long range responsibilities such as employee evaluations, corrective action, business / budget planning, and performance improvement.
Qualifications
Job Requirements :
- Completion of education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a charge or relief charge nurse required
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an ICU hospital setting required
- Registered Nurse (RN) with Texas Board of Nursing - OR - current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact
- Required to complete the education necessary to obtain my BSN degree within four (4) years of my date of hire with Seton Medical Center Harker Heights
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA (American Heart Association) is required upon hire
- Active ACLS certification through AHA (American Heart Association) is required upon hire
- Active PALS certification through AHA (American Heart Association) is required upon hire
- TNCC is required within 18 months of hire
Preferred Job Requirements :
- Experience with patient safety best practices preferred.
