General Responsibilities
Perform work for Providence and New Life involving the skills of maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of Providence and New Life in repair. Duties are tasked from work orders and may involve repairing equipment, carpentry, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, installing equipment, and building repairs.
Communication Responsibilities
Each team member will complete the tickets assigned to him / her and will note on the software the status of that ticket, communicating with your supervisors and the ticket owner.
Must be able to effectively communicate with supervisors, peers, and contractors and establish and maintain interpersonal relationships.
Schedule Responsibilities
The schedule for the Facilities Technician will be dictated by the Facilities Director and / or Manager as needed by the corporation. It is the responsibility of the individual occupying the position to be punctual and follow scheduling.
Job skills Knowledge and Abilities :
Individual must be an organized, self-starter with above average problem-solving ability. Also, you must be able to work alone and unsupervised. Most importantly, you must be able to work as part of a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined team while achieving your highest potential performance. Skills are required to perform multiple tasks with a need to upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include operating equipment used in skilled trades, power and hand tools, adhering to safety practices, and handling hazardous materials.
Efficiency
It is understood and expected that all personnel maintain an efficient work process by keeping to the needs at hand, keeping conversations to a minimum, working at an efficient pace, staying on task, streamlining where possible, and organizing your steps. Personnel should organize their effort to accomplish as much as possible each day at work.
Flexibility
New life Christian Fellowship and Providence School both have a strong people-oriented emphasis. It is required that the members of the Facilities Department remain flexible to change. Additionally, it is imperative that the Facilities Personnel understand that all job descriptions are subject to change. Changes will be made based on the needs of New Life and / or Providence and the needs of the coverage for the Facilities Department.
Requirements :
2-years experience in a facilities maintenance group needed.
Ability to use shop equipment such as sanders, drill press, forklift, and scissor lift.
Diagnose issues from work orders and be able to fix and resolve them using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, etc.
Must be teachable and cooperative.
Must speak, understand, read, and write in English.
High school diploma or GED needed.
Must be physically able to lift and / or carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be physically able to climb up and down a ladder for repairs and painting and perform general physical activities such as bending, kneeling, standing, walking, squatting, reaching, grabbing, holding, lifting, pulling, etc.
Must have a driver’s license and be a safe driver.
Maintain an orderly and clean work environment, clean up after yourself after each job, and put tools and equipment back in their proper space so others have access to the shared items.
