Overview
Davids Engineering (DE) is enthusiastically pursuing exceptionally qualified and motivated candidates with experience in civil, hydraulic, and structural design, agricultural engineering, and construction management to join our growing team in DE's Davis or Oakdale office. While the Assistant Engineer will primarily focus on DE's Infrastructure Solution Area, candidates are expected to provide support in the Water and Technology Solutions as well. All DE team members are expected to have superior analytic and problem-solving skills; ability to express technically complex information clearly, both orally and in writing; ability to self-motivate; attention to detail; strong work ethic; and good moral, ethical, and engineering judgement. Base pay range
$33.00 / hr - $43.00 / hr
The anticipated pay range for this position is between $33 / hr and $43 / hr depending on qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of engineering analysis, designs, and calculations for large-to small-scale water conveyance structures (e.g., headworks, pump stations, water level control structures) and conveyance features (e.g., pipelines, canals, ditches) and related components, including calculations and cost estimating.
- Assist with layout and drawings with other team members.
- Field data collection including topographic and planimetric information.
- Prepare technical specifications.
- Participate in proposal and report writing.
- Conduct on-site inspection of construction activities under the direct supervision and at the direction of the engineer of record.
- Position may require travel, off-site field visits, and overnight stays.
Desired Qualifications
0-2 years of experience performing duties similar to those listed above.Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering (Civil, Agricultural, Mechanical, or similar).EIT Certification; or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.Knowledge of AutoCAD or CIVIL3D, Excel, GIS, and Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with (or connection to) irrigated agriculture.Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with a diverse project team and colleagues in both in-person and virtual settings.Ability to identify and proactively communicate and resolve potential issues with the project team.Seniority level
