Job Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Orthopedic Technician to join our dynamic orthopedic team. In this vital role, you will provide direct clinical support to our physicians and physician assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient patient care. Your expertise in applying and managing orthopedic devices and your commitment to clinical excellence will be essential in helping patients achieve optimal musculoskeletal health.
Responsibilities :
- Function as a crucial clinical support member of the orthopedic care team, assisting physicians and PAs with procedures, patient intake, rooming, and documentation.
- Apply, adjust, remove, and provide patient education for a variety of orthopedic devices, including casts, splints, braces, and external fixators for a diverse patient population (infant to geriatric).
- Perform clinical tasks such as suture and staple removal, dressing changes, and wound care under the direction of the provider.
- Ensure efficient patient flow by preparing exam and procedure rooms, anticipating physician needs, and maintaining an orderly and fully stocked clinical environment.
- Manage clinical documentation with accuracy, including logging nurse notes, processing medication refills, preparing surgical charts, consents, and orders, and scanning patient records.
- Uphold the highest standards of compliance, adhering to all clinic policies, procedures, and safety protocols, and reporting any potential violations or concerns.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering patient calls, scheduling tests, and processing DME applications as needed.
- Commit to professional growth by participating in continuing education to stay current with new techniques and equipment in orthopedic care
Qualifications & Requirements
Education : High school diploma or GED (required). A higher-level degree is preferred.Licensure / Certification :Required : Orthopedic Technologist Certification (OTC).
Required : American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.Skills & Experience :
