As part of an Agile / Scrum team, the Scrum Master performs the critical role of Servant-Leader to the team. The Scrum Master uses their skills of collaboration, facilitation, leadership, and coaching to support the development of our software applications, removing impediments while promoting the team's self-management and continuous improvement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Act as servant-leader to one or more agile teams; removing impediments and ensuring team productivity
Lead by example, demonstrating and upholding scrum principles.Protect the team from distractions and interruptionsLead daily scrum standup meetings, ensuring usefulness and adherence to scrum practiceEnsure team is evaluating stories to meet the definition of done.Lead team retrospectives and ensure key learning is incorporated into next sprint.CoachingCoach team members to uphold scrum principles.
Communication / TrackingTrack team delivery on commitments through the use of burndown charts and other visual methods
Produce and post sprint plans and otherwise act as an information radiator.Track team velocity to ensure accuracy of future planning.CollaborationWork with key stakeholders to understand priorities and items to be groomed in upcoming sprints
Ensure stakeholders are informed if changes occur that impact delivery.Work with other teams to ensure alignment of priorities and that dependencies are delivered in the appropriate sprints to support other teams' delivery commitments.Actively drive continuous improvement in scrum practices.Work with customers as a key stakeholder in setting priorities, understanding requirement work, and communicating progress.PlanningDrive weekly backlog grooming sessions with the team, ensuring work items are estimated and 'ready-to-work' per the stakeholder priorities.
Provide input to and participate in Release PlanningLead Sprint Planning sessions ensuring the commitments made are appropriate and uphold scrum principles.Participate in daily bug scrub meetings and work with Product Owner on prioritization and assignment.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
College diploma or university degree in software engineering, computer science, or business administration and / or 3-5 years equivalent work experience.Minimum 3-5 years of experience as Scrum Master with application software.3-5 Years Project Management experienceExperience in Supply Chain Management, Freight Forwarding, and / or Contract Logistics preferredCSM - Certified Scrum Master requiredCSP - Certified Scrum Professional desiredExperience in Logistics industry desiredExperience with EDI communications desiredREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
