Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Chairside Assistance : Support dental providers during procedures by preparing instruments, passing materials, taking digital X-rays, and ensuring patient comfort.Infection Control : Maintain strict adherence to sterilization and disinfection protocols, following Hamilton's Infection Control Policy to ensure a safe clinical environment.Patient Support : Prepare patients for treatment, collect health histories, and provide pre- and post-operative instructions to promote understanding and compliance.Clinical Documentation : Maintain accurate and timely electronic dental records, including treatment notes, radiographs, consent forms, and referrals.Laboratory & Impressions : Take preliminary impressions, pour models, and prepare lab cases with proper documentation.Supply Management : Order and restock dental supplies, ensuring operatories remain clean, organized, and fully equipped.Administrative & Team Support : Assist with scheduling coordination, departmental meetings, staff training, and cross-location coverage as needed.Expanded Function (if applicable) : EFDAs perform duties consistent with Pennsylvania State Law relating to the EFDA scope of practice.Qualifications :
Education : Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program.Certification : DANB certification for radiographs required (or must obtain within 4 months of hire); CPR certification required (or must obtain within 4 months).Experience : One year of chairside dental assisting experience preferred; foundational knowledge expected.Interpersonal Skills : Strong communication, organization, and teamwork abilities, with a professional and patient-focused demeanor.Compliance : Must pass background checks, including child abuse clearance, and be able to work in a community-based and / or school-based clinical environment.All About Hamilton Health Center :
