Key Qualifications and Responsibilities

  • Annual Medical History / PE : Conduct annual medical history and physical exams for residential SUD patients.
  • Administrative Excellence : Ensure timely completion of all required administrative reports and documentation.
  • Integrated Care : Interface with other care providers to deliver integrated, whole-person medical and social service care.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations (Title 9, Title 22, CARF, DEA, CSAT).
  • Confidentiality : Maintain confidentiality of clinical records and privileged information.
  • Intake Assessments : Perform intake medical histories, physical exams, and medical assessments for residential SUD patients.
  • Health Education : Provide education on HVC, HIV / AIDS, and STD prevention.
  • Health Monitoring : Monitor patients' health status and provide necessary referrals.
  • TB Screening : Conduct TB screening and follow-up education.
  • Medication Review : Review changes in patients' medication and health status.
  • Staff Training : Educate and train staff as necessary.
  • Collaborative Care : Collaborate with the Medical Director and counselors on patient care.
  • Patient Assessment and Diagnosis : Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Utilize tools like the ASAM Criteria to determine the appropriate level of care.
  • Treatment Planning : Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments, including goals and action steps for recovery. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach.
  • Medication Management : Prescribe and manage medications for substance use disorders, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) options. Monitor patients for medication adherence and potential side effects.
  • Therapeutic Interventions : Provide counseling and support using evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Facilitate group therapy sessions and educational workshops on substance use and recovery.
  • Coordination of Care : Coordinate with other healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, mental health professionals, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Refer patients to appropriate services and support networks as needed.
  • Patient Education : Educate patients and their families about substance use disorders, treatment options, and recovery strategies. Provide resources and support for relapse prevention and long-term recovery.
  • Documentation and Compliance : Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including documentation requirements and service codes.
  • Crisis Intervention : Respond to patient crises, including overdose situations, and provide immediate care and stabilization. Develop and implement crisis intervention plans to address acute patient needs.

  • Pay & Benefits

    At Janus, base salary is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $140,000 and $150,000 annually and your base pay will be considered on your job-related skills, training, qualifications, experience, and relevant education.

    Requirements

    Education & Experience :

  • California Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with an advanced Health Program degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with opioid drug users and providing prenatal care for opioid-addicted pregnant and postpartum patients.
  • In-depth understanding of the pharmacology and physiologic effects of methadone.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements , including Title 9, CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) standards, and Title 22.
  • Experience with Google Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) for documentation and collaboration.
  • Additional Desirable Qualifications :

  • Experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
