Job description

Corporate Relations & Scholarship Manager

The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University is accepting applications for a full-time Corporate Relations & Scholarship Manager (Program Coordinator II). The incumbent is responsible for managing corporate relationships and recruiting activity for a portfolio of corporate partners, as well as managing the awarding of scholarship funds within the Huntsman School of Business. This position will report to the Director of External Relations.

Manage corporate relationships and recruiting / engagement activity for assigned departments (60%) :

  • Build robust relationships with a portfolio of Huntsman Community members, specifically employers and alumni.
  • Systematically engage corporate and alumni contacts in meaningful ways to build community within the alumni population, expand opportunities for our students, and further the mission of the Huntsman School.
  • Secure sponsorships from corporate partners of the Huntsman School to provide funding for hands-on learning opportunities, student projects, competitions, etc. Plan and execute recruiting, alumni, and donor-centered events.

Manage Huntsman School scholarship awarding process (40%) :

  • Coordinate all Huntsman School scholarship processes from application to award, ensuring alignment with donor intent, institutional policy, and student needs.
  • Manage the annual scholarship application cycle : determine open / close dates, post opportunities in Scholarship Universe, promote via internal and external channels, and ensure seamless user experience for applicants.
  • Track and manage eligibility criteria and award amounts for all Huntsman donor-funded scholarships, working with HSB Business Services and University Advancement.
  • Professionally communicate with students regarding award decisions (both awarded and not awarded), eligibility questions, and exception requests.
  • Manage relationships with scholarship donors in conjunction with the Huntsman School fundraising team. Plan and facilitate scholarship events and activities.
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in customer relationship management, sales, event planning and management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to build relationships and interact comfortably with a wide variety of stakeholders, including executive level contacts, corporate professionals, scholarship donors, advisory board members, alumni, and students.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated Excel proficiency, including pivot tables and data validation tools. Proven ability to create and interpret reports / dashboards.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, with a preference for proficiency in SalesForce, Scholarship Universe (or other equivalent platform), Banner and / or Argos.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines, including the use of project management platforms to plan, track, and execute efficiently.
  • Commensurate with experience with excellent benefits.

    Employees typically work in an office environment and are protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes. However, in certain instances employees may work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions. Employees nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motion (such as typing). Bending and stooping is occasionally required. Employees nearly continuously listen, hear, and talk.
