Description

This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Redondo Beach, CA.

This position performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components. Drafts detailed drawings for fabrication. Devices, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Handling delicate flight hardware using proper ESD and contamination control best practice.
• Performs mechanical assembly using space flight drawings and process documents.
• Performs space flight bonding operations using various adhesives for thermal, electrical, and mechanical connections on complex composite and structural assemblies.
• Collaborating with all stakeholders for your task.
• Provide feedback to manufacturing engineers and designers on producibility enhancements.

Basic Qualifications :

Mechanical Technician 3 : High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and / or related experience.

Mechanical Technician 4 : High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and / or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications :
