As a Lead Software Engineer at Capital One, you will be at the forefront of driving significant change within our organization.

Key Responsibilities :

Direct a diverse array of technology projects and lead a talented team of developers experienced in distributed microservices and full stack systems to craft solutions that fulfill regulatory requirements for the organization.

Foster your enthusiasm for keeping up with technology trends, learning new tools, participating in tech communities, and mentoring fellow engineers.

Work closely with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that enhance the financial empowerment of millions of Americans.

Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, HTML / CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, alongside open-source databases, container orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services.

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree.

A minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience (excluding internships).

At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

Preferred Qualifications :

Master's Degree.

7+ years of experience in programming with at least one of the following : JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.

3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or a similar cloud service.

4+ years of experience using open source frameworks.

1+ years of people management experience.

2+ years of experience in Agile methodologies.

The annual salary range for this role is as follows :

• Chicago, IL : $175,800 - $200,700
• McLean, VA : $193,400 - $220,700
• Richmond, VA : $175,800 - $200,700

Candidates in other locations will be subject to the respective pay range for that area. Actual compensation will be discussed in the offer letter.

In addition to salary, this position is eligible for performance-based incentives, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
