About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Transmission and Interconnection with a focus on utility-scale BESS and PV grid connection initiatives, as well as long-term transmission strategy for the firm and the industry. The successful candidate will be a strategic and technical expert in this field, working closely with development, engineering, finance, and operations to drive transmission initiatives that align with the overall business goals. Experience across multiple ISOs and RTOs is essential.
Key responsibilities for the role include the development and execution of transmission strategies to support utility-scale BESS and PV portfolios, leading power flow models, and conducting transmission studies. The VP will also be responsible for overseeing interconnection processes across various ISOs and RTOs to ensure timely, reliable, and cost-effective grid connections. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in EE, power systems, energy economics, or a related field, with a Masters degree strongly preferred, and at least 10 years of experience in the power and energy industry with a strong focus on transmission planning and interconnection strategy. Demonstrated experience with several US power markets and a strong understanding of FERC regulations, market design, and various technical aspects of the industry are required. Proficiency in relevant software tools is also necessary, along with extensive experience in renewable interconnection.
