Essential Job Functions
- Assists with smooth operation of pickup and delivery of all laundry
- Sorts laundry and linen items
- Arrange laundry and linens per specifications
- Assists in providing direct laundry exchange services
- Ensure proper loading and unloading of items
- Removes stains from items using the appropriate procedures
- Assists with all work for the shift is staged correctly, completed and shipped on time based upon the production Schedule and required quality standards
- Ensures that the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment
- Assist in routine maintenance on all equipment used and keep all equipment clean and in fully functional condition
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Physical Demands :
The Laundry Attendants is a physically demanding position, requires heavy physical work, and repetitive motion. Requires manual
dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. While preforming the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly
required to reach with hands and arms. The incumbent is frequently required to use to finger, handle, feel or operate
objects, tools or controls. The incumbent must spend the entire time at work standing, walking, lifting heavy objects,
operating medium- weight cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, sweeping and mopping floors and moving desks and
furniture. The incumbent is required to do a great deal of stretching and bending, often in awkward positions. The
incumbent must also use back-pack vacuums when assigned. The incumbent must frequently lift and / or move up to 25
pounds and occasionally lift and / or move more than 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Environmental Demands :
The incumbent works on a daily basis with dangerous and toxic cleaning products that can be very harmful to one’s health
if not properly utilized and require following basic safety precautions. May involve moderate exposure to unusual
elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and / or loud noises. The incumbent
also regularly cleans up blood, saliva and other bodily fluids that are unpleasant to deal with. The condition of washrooms
is often unpleasant.
Background Screening :
Must submit to background check during length of employment as dictated by contract. Must be able to pass criminal and
drug screening processes to meet current contract eligibility requirements that apply.
