English: Lecturer in Writing

Position: One full-time instructional academic staff positions of Lecturer in Writing are available in the English Department at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire beginning August 18, 2025. The position is for a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal based on program need.

Required Qualifications:

• M.A., Ph.D., or MFA in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or closely related field.
• The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of a record of excellence in teaching writing at the college level.
• Candidates must have at least two semesters of experience teaching first-year composition at the college level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with developmental and/or multilingual writers;
• Experience with multimodal composition.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach 15 credits each semester in the first-year writing program, the Blugold Seminar in Critical Reading and Writing (). Typically, the 15 credits are three 5-credit courses. 5-credit courses are capped at either 15 or 20 students. For the first semester of this appointment the teaching load will be 16 credits (with overload pay): two 5-credit courses and three 2-credit courses. The 5-credit courses will be taught in person and the 2-credit courses will be taught online.
