This is unskilled and semi-skilled work performing light to heavy manual labor. Maintain cleanliness, functionality, safety & security of County facilities.
Job Description
Daily duties performed at assigned locations :
- Check and clean facilities and exterior grounds, pick up debris / litter from around buildings, parking lots and dumpster areas.
- Sweep or blow off sidewalks / walkways around buildings.
- Empty exterior trash receptacles as needed.
- General cleaning of building interiors including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, emptying trash receptacles, surface cleaning with supplied cleaning supplies.
- Secondary restroom check / cleaning and ensure disposable supplies are adequately stocked.
- Perform building safety checks and report all unsafe conditions to Supervisor.
- Communicate with internal and external customers, Building Superintendents, and Supervisor.
- Requested as per work order or special request :
- Disinfect offices or other areas of buildings as required.
- Assist with set up of meetings to include moving tables / chairs and ensuring meeting rooms are vacuumed / trash emptied, etc. before meeting begins. Interim cleaning as needed during and after meetings.
- Spot clean carpets, wipe down tables and countertops, pull weeds, rake, sweep.
- General grounds work as needed.
- Raise and lower flags, fold, replace and dispose of properly.
- Other :
- Document time and materials in the Archibus work order management system.
- Enter data in Kronos timecard system.
- Attend any necessary training.
- Work Hours : Typical work schedule will be Monday Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. 4 : 30 p.m., however, work schedules may vary due to split shift coverage needs, rotation, emergencies, etc. May be assigned to a different work location. Will participate in on-call rotation.
About You
Minimum Qualifications : A High School Diploma or its equivalent; prefer some experience with small tools and light weight maintenance equipment. May require a valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire.
Job Competencies
Operate power equipment common to cleaning and ground maintenance (i.e., blower, line trimmer, pressure washer, carpet cleaner, floor machine and the like).Knowledge of tools / methods used in maintenance of County facilities.Knowledge of cleaning products and chemicals (including "green" products) and the ability to mix them according to instructions on labels.Basic computer skills to include email, Outlook, Kronos, Smartsheet, Archibus, etc.Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively work and communicate with County employees at all levels, as well as the public.Physical Demands : Must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds. Must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. A dolly, cart or assistance from another team member is available when lifting excessive weight. There is occasional work in high, precarious places and occasional work around fumes, airborne particles and / or toxic / caustic chemicals.
