Job Description :
The DFPS Senior Financial Analyst (Financial Analyst IV) position is a high-impact, challenging role with a high-level view of the agency. Primary duties include DFPS budget and fiscal policy analysis; financial and technical support for agency-wide projects and reporting; and acting as a liaison between agencies or executives. These duties are performed under minimal supervision; the analyst uses discretion and independent judgment to evaluate all available options to resolve policy and / or funding issues. Develops briefing documents, issue papers and memorandum for executive management review and decision-making. Reviews, analyzes, and responds to legislative information requests ensuring coordination with appropriate staff and providing assistance to the agency in their responses. Serves on interagency and / or intra-agency workgroups to coordinate and develop DFPS budget and policy initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned and required.

Initial Selection Criteria :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration, or other related fields. Related work experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis with a maximum substitution of four years.
Experience with executing high-level complex coordination, and oral / written communications.
Experience communicating with legislative members, staff, state, and local representatives.
State and local government accounting and finance-related experience is preferred.
