Management Specialist 7-Overhead Contact Systems (OCS)
As a member of this team, you will contribute to CDM Smith's success by developing project scope of work and fee proposals, managing task or project-level budgets and schedules, providing day-to-day direct oversight of traction power planning and design projects, developing project design criteria, construction plans, construction specifications, and cost estimates, writing technical reports, assigning daily work, and mentoring junior staff. You will also manage implementation plans as appropriate, collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs), review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices, and meet with current and potential future clients to review their current and future organizational needs. Participation in professional associations and societies, attendance at conferences, and contribution to papers may also be required.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and 12 years of related experience. Domestic and / or international travel may be required, and the frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred qualifications include a strong background in Overhead Contact System design, Traction Power design, DC Power design, testing, installation, and construction phase services, preferably with clients like CTA, Metra and / or similar transit agencies nationwide. Experience managing and delivering design projects from initiation through final design, working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD, ability to present in front of large groups, and task leader, discipline leader, or project management experience are also preferred.
