The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill a Resources & Reimbursement Agent 1, position in the State Operations Finance Group, Operations Support Unit; specific duties of this incumbent include, but are not limited to, the following :

• May serve as subject matter expert (SME) for the following subject / program areas : Medicaid, SSI, Social Security, Medicare, Food Stamps, Outside Hospital Care (OHC), OMH adult residential programs (e.g. Family Care, SOCR, SORCCA, and children's residential programs), and / or systems utilized by Patient Resources;
• Gathering and disseminating information needed to facilitate and support field and central Patient Resource operations, including writing and issuing policy and procedural directives; responding to questions on operational policies, procedures, and systems, and developing and conducting training on operational issues;
• Serving as liaison with other OMH divisions and outside agencies, identifying and analyzing changes and emerging issues which have an impact on field operations and providing recommendations for policy and procedural changes;
• Serving as liaison with DOH regarding Medicaid eligibility for clients admitted to OMH operated programs;
• Providing technical assistance on case specific problems to Bureau staff, other OMH staff, staff from DOH / other State and Federal agencies, as well as outside providers and clients;
• Managing centralized operational functions of the New York State Welfare Management System (WMS) for District 97 Medicaid.

Salary information :

For current New York State employees, the starting salary is based on the candidate's salary at the time of hire. Specific scheduled hours and telecommuting availability for this position will be discussed during the interview process.
