Sr. Category Development Manager

Job Summary : The Sr. Category Development Manager role is an exciting opportunity to accelerate your career in procurement. In this creative and strategic role, you will take responsibility for the day to day management of assigned suppliers and retail growth programs and will develop and execute strategic business plans within a fast-paced environment. As an expert in assigned categories, you will negotiate with assigned suppliers on contractual programs, pricing, and incentives while developing relationships that further mutual partnership. You will engage cross-functionally within your team, other departments and with Sector representatives to present program opportunities designed to deliver program growth. As a result, it will be expected to demonstrate the ability to delegate and manage team projects and plans including actively working with others and providing appropriate guidance, support, and direction as needed to drive to completion.

Responsibilities :

  • Own&Direct Financial KPIs associated with category
  • Ensure terms of supplier contracts are being executed, with a full understanding of contracts
  • Develop and drive strategy in conjunction with key business partners and in consideration of proactive industry analysis
  • Provide market trend analysis (business performance&drivers) to seize value creating opportunities&corrective actions
  • Identify, design&execute significant cost savings projects within assigned categories
  • Strategic collaborating with supplier base, customers, and internal departments to drive growth.
  • Independently create&deliver presentations with customer&competitive insights
  • Ownership of required internal processes including budgeting, contract attributes, benchmarking, pricing, product recommendations, etc.

Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of managerial experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Resourceful mindset; ability to problem solve, identify root causes to challenges and offer solutions for issue resolution.
  • A great attitude maintains optimism and flexibility.
  • Great project management skills are key to the success of this role.
  • Time management skillset and ability to prioritize tasks and deliverables.
  • Ability to extract insights from complex data sets using advanced analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and exceptional work quality.
  • Good knowledge of budgets and forecasting.
  • Outstanding presentation skills.
  • High proficiency level with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
  • Travel could be up to 10% annually.
  • Manage assigned associates to their KPIs providing performance feedback, supporting their professional development, providing coaching and guidance that support their needs and ensuring that goals and expectations are met.
