This position provides quality leadership and has full responsibility for Quality at the Elyria Site regarding the Quality Management System (QMS), customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, for product life cycle from Product development, Production, Supply Chain to Aftermarket.
The incumbent must be a proven effective quality leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, sense of urgency, demonstrated performance results and a continual improvement mindset.
Essential Functions :
- Establish a zero defect culture by leading the deployment and continuous improvement of Quality Strategy based on AS9100 Quality Systems - Aerospace and AS9145 Product Quality Planning.
- Achieve leading customer performance ratings through the implementation of Crane Business System and QMS, driving improvement in key customer metrics.
- Proactive approach with an effective accountability process is in place enabling prevention and control, drive accountability for daily performance and problem solving of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety / quality / delivery / cost / growth.
- Develop and implement a quality organizational structure capable of supporting the strategic initiatives and lead the efforts to integrate quality into development of short and long terms business plans, operating budget responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with Crane Aerospace and Electronics QMS, customer and industry specific quality requirements by establishing an effective internal audit and assessment, robust corrective action process to validate and improve system effectiveness.
- Ensure the effectiveness of measurement and monitoring systems to achieve improvement in Site business key metrics and quality processes key metrics.
- Ensure Advanced Quality Planning using AS9145 in Product Development Process (PDP). Utilize the quality function to provide oversight and enhancements to the PDP to verify appropriate processes and procedures are being followed to ensure customer performance measures are met and a zero defect transition into production takes place.
- Effectively manages the supply chain quality performance over the lifecycle. Ensure that the quality of purchased materials meets requirements and comply with applicable regulations, preferred experience with castings commodity.
Minimum Qualifications :
Experience : 10+ years Quality assurance experience in the defense, space electronics or high-end aerospace industry; 7+ years' experience as a Quality Manager; Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.FAA requirements Title 14 CFR 21 (FSDO), Repair Station Title 14 CFR 145 experience (MIDO).Expert level of leadership within problem solving, 6 Sigma, AS9145 APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, process control plans, process capability.Experience with AS9100D QMS (Engine customer specific quality standards preferred Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, GE, Safran, CF).Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.Leadership and people development, roll up sleeves, establish a culture of quality integration into the daily production issues and product development, and develop his or her staff to work similarly.Collaborative relationship with other functions focused on finding solutions that meet both our (internal and external) quality requirements and business objectives.Strong critical thinking and complex problem-solving ability with a bias toward sense of urgency.Education / Certification : B.S. degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field.Travel up to 10% may be required.Eligibility Requirement : This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information.
