A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A SENIOR RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

As a Senior Relationship Development Officer (RDO), your primary focus is cultivating meaningful relationships throughout the community that drive membership growth for Cyprus Credit Union. This is an outward-facing, relationship-driven sales role that blends business development with community engagement.

You'll spend your days connecting with community partners, schools, and local businesses to identify ways Cyprus can support their goals through our full suite of financial products and services. You will work independently to develop and nurture your own leads, with clear monthly goals for new accounts and measurable outcomes tied to growth.

Success in this role requires confidence, charisma, determination, and a genuinely positive attitude. The most successful RDOs thrive on building trust, creating opportunities, and representing Cyprus with enthusiasm and professionalism. You'll also collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure every new member feels valued and supported from their first interaction forward. A strong working knowledge of our products and services will be key to helping you connect member needs with the right solutions.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities :

Drives new membership growth by proactively engaging with businesses and community partners to introduce Cyprus Credit Union's products and services. Collaborates closely with branch managers and staff to strengthen relationships and ensure seamless onboarding of new members. Independently plans, organizes, and prioritizes daily activities to maximize results.

Leads community and networking initiatives designed to attract new members and deepen existing partnerships. Represents Cyprus with professionalism and enthusiasm at community events, business meetings, and outreach opportunities to enhance visibility and strengthen our brand presence.

Manages and maintains a comprehensive database of business contacts, partner organizations, and prospective members. Accurately tracks outreach efforts, monitors progress toward goals, and provides timely reports and insights to leadership.

Serves as a trusted liaison for members and internal teams by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and ensuring an exceptional service experience in every interaction.

Contributes to organizational initiatives and special projects that support Cyprus Credit Union's mission of fostering financial well-being and community connection.

Experience

Senior Relationship Development Officer : Five+ years of previous relationship development experience in the financial industry or seven + years relationship development experience in other industries. Sales,  specifically a history of high sales goals, met consistently. Ability to navigate full Office 365 suite.

Education

High school or equivalent. Valid driver's license.

Interpersonal Skills

This position requires a high degree of professionalism, trust, and diplomacy. The Relationship Development Officer regularly engages in personal, and at times sensitive, interactions that call for exceptional communication, tact, and discretion. Success depends on the ability to build rapport, influence decisions, and foster long-term partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders. The role often involves motivating, guiding, and collaborating with others to achieve shared goals, making strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills essential.

Other Skills

Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Physical Requirements - Ability to lift equipment up to 25 pounds for on-location events. Must have a well maintained, reliable vehicle and be willing to travel to conduct credit union business. Work Environment - No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).
