Scope of Responsibilities

The Information Technology Director is responsible for implementing and supporting the organization’s IT platforms. This includes developing and executing plans for infrastructure, systems, and cloud services to meet the firm’s needs. The role requires knowledge of IT best practices and leadership of the support team for systems, infrastructure, and cloud services.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide strategic and operational management, including setting goals for IT and participating in leadership decisions.
• Ensure all IT systems and services are reliable, available, secure, and managed according to firm guidelines.
• Act as the primary incident manager for IT issues, including communication and root cause analysis.
• Lead emergency preparedness efforts, including disaster recovery planning.
• Understand the firm’s legal practice to leverage technology in supporting client needs.
• Manage IT staff, external vendors, and service providers to ensure responsiveness and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee the IT Change Management Process.
• Develop automation strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Identify investment opportunities in IT resources, including staffing and purchasing.
• Prepare and manage the annual IT budget.
• Supervise recruitment, development, and retention of IT staff.
• Foster strategic relationships with vendors and partners.
• Stay current with IT industry trends, advising leadership on technological and financial impacts.
• Assess training needs within the IT department.
