Job description

Job Summary :

As a Project Engineer at SteelFab, you'll dive right into the fast-paced world of construction. In this full-time role, you'll work with our Pre-Construction and Project Management teams on a variety of projects. You'll get hands-on experience, build your skills, and make an impact by taking on tasks like :

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaboration : Engage with the Estimating department to gather subcontractor pricing for new project estimates.
  • Scope Analysis : Review and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Material and Labor Take-Offs : Utilize company software to perform detailed material and labor take-offs.
  • Pricing Reviews : Prepare pricing recaps for senior leadership.
  • Client Engagement : Follow up on submitted bids and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Client Communication : Issue Requests for Information (RFIs) to clients, ensuring all project details are clear and accurate.
  • Schedule Management : Maintain and update shipping and project schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Purchase Orders & Subcontracts : Write and issue purchase orders and subcontracts to vendors.
  • Change Order Requests : Prepare and issue pricing for change order requests.
  • Site Visits : Visit job sites to build relationships with clients and vendors
  • Design Review : Analyze design drawing revisions to identify and address scope changes to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Construction Coordination : Assist in coordinating construction drawings, modeling, and submittal reviews.
  • Field Issue Resolution : Work with onsite subcontractors to identify and resolve field issues.
  • Fabrication Shop Experience : Gain hands-on experience with the fabrication flow and production processes, deepening your understanding of the entire construction lifecycle.

  • Qualifications and Requirements

    Major : Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields

    Required : Microsoft Office experience, common computer skills. Valid driver's license

    Preferred : Some experience in the construction or engineering industry through work, internships, or part-time employment.
