Electrical Controls Engineer
Job Description
Responsibilities :
- Installation, Wiring and Commissioning of control systems
- Exercise technical, mechanical and control system aptitude / skills in order to accurately identify root causes for machine failures or break downs and the repair accordingly
- Instrumentation and controls debugging and troubleshooting
- May represent Facility as Associate Project Manager on segments of Corporate Engineering projects as well as lead small in house plant projects
- Receives general supervision and exercises some discretion as to work details
- Ability to work all shifts dependent on the need to maintain production
- Responsible for completing projects tasks within time and budget constraints
- Work is reviewed for overall accuracy, completeness and soundness of technical judgment
Qualifications for controls technician
- Possess the ability to read and understand controls prints
- Minimum of five years of experience in the maintenance of complex controls systems with multiple interactions is required
- Must have knowledge of how PLC, SCADA and / or other industrial control systems work to include some minor programming.
Emphasis on Rockwell Automation RS Logix5000 and SLC500 platforms
- Three years' experience in the maintenance and calibration of instrumentation and process control equipment, in an industrial manufacturing setting including Food, Beverage, or other manufacturing industries.
- Technical training in electronics, instrumentation and process controls
- Work with Thermocouples, Transducers, PLC, Motors, VFD Drives
- Update and Maintain Plant library of all PLC, HMI, and VFD drive parameters on Corporate Drive.
