Senior Project InspectorLocation: Louisville, KYPosition SummaryJob DescriptionJQOL is seeking an experienced Senior Project Inspector to join our growing team. The Senior Project Inspector plays an important role in ensuring construction projects are built in accordance with approved plans, specifications, standards, and applicable regulations. The successful candidate will provide field oversight, document project progress, monitor quality, and work closely with project teams, contractors, clients, and other inspection partners.The chosen applicant will be involved in a variety of construction projects, including new bridge construction, bridge rehabilitation, new roadway construction, roadway rehabilitation, and traffic and pedestrian safety improvements. Our team members will also have opportunities to expand their skills and assist our design and survey teams between construction projects.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform construction inspections to ensure work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, standards, and contract requirements.Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documents.Prepare accurate and thorough daily inspection reports and project documentation.Monitor construction activities, materials, workmanship, and project progress.Perform and document quality control calculations and testing procedures.Review and document project quantities and pay items.Review erosion control measures and maintenance of traffic (MOT) requirements.Assist with the preparation and review of as-built drawings and project records.Identify construction issues and work with contractors, project teams, and clients to resolve themmunicate project conditions, concerns, and progress effectively with the inspection team and project stakeholders.Provide guidance and support to less experienced inspectors and field staff.Work closely with the JQOL inspection team, design teams, clients, contractors, and other inspection partners.Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure required inspection records are completed.Assist other JQOL departments, including Civil Engineering and Survey, when construction projects are not active.Key AbilitiesConstruction inspection and field observationPlan and specification interpretationDaily report and project documentationQuantity calculations and pay item documentationQuality control and testing proceduresAs-built documentationErosion control reviewMaintenance of Traffic (MOT) reviewAbility to identify and resolve construction issuesStrong attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and make sound field decisionsAbility to work effectively as part of a teamAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlinesAbility to provide guidance and direction to other inspectorsPreferred QualificationsMinimum of 4 years of construction inspection experience with INDOT, KYTC, or relevant construction inspection experience.INDOT Certified Technician preferred.INDOT Material Testing Proficiencies preferred.Experience with SiteManager preferred.Familiarity with construction plans, specifications, and INDOT/KYTC standards.Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Experience with roadway, bridge, transportation, or other public infrastructure projects preferred.Why Join Our Team?Unlimited growth potentialStrong industry leadershipFlexible work scheduleOpportunity to make an impactExciting projects already lined upSupportive and collaborative team environmentOpportunities to learn, grow, and develop your careerWork-life balance that respects your personal and professional life
