Colorado State UniversityFort Collins, COColorado State University invites nominations and applications for an Undergraduate Academic Advisor. This is a 12-month administrative professional position eligible for University benefits. The position will work within the College of Business within the Undergraduate Programs Office and will report to the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Programs.
The Academic Advisor position in the College of Business Undergraduate Programs Department carries a caseload providing advisory services for Undergraduate Business Majors at Colorado State University, including concentrations in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Finance, Financial Planning, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management and Innovation, Marketing, Real Estate, Supply Chain Management, and Sustainable Business. This position is also responsible for recruiting first year and transfer undergraduate students with an emphasis on students of color, female identified, first generation, LGBTQ, and other underrepresented groups specifically for the Business Administration major. The academic advisor is responsible for developing and facilitating COB recruiting programming on campus and in the greater community. The Academic Advisor may also supervise the College of Business Ambassador Program, co-coordinate the 1st Generation Business Summit, and / or coordinate co-curricular programming for the College of Business international Summer School Program.The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the College of Business will not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Required Job Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- One or more years of experience in higher education academic advising
- Experience working with historically underrepresented students such as ethnically / racially diverse students, first generation students, and international students, and other underrepresented populations
- Experience with program and event development, planning, organizing, and implementation
- Ability to work with people in both a face-to-face and remote format
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills demonstrated by cover letter and experience in public speaking
- Ability to travel and work non-standard hours such as evenings, early mornings, and weekends
