We are looking for a Mechanical Piping Designer with proficiency in AutoCAD(Revit would also be preferred). This is an MEP-focused role, involving the creation and coordination of mechanical piping models to support project requirements.
Location : Phoenix, AZ(ONSITE)
Schedule : Monday- Friday
Job Type : Full time, contract to hire(6-12 months then conversion to permanent employee)
Pay Rate : $35-40 per hour(based on experience)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Develop detailed mechanical piping models using Revit and AutoCAD to support MEP project requirements.
Create working drawings and documents that outline mechanical systems for installation and coordination.
Documentation and Compliance :
Produce and manage reports including AD Verification, Valve and Damper Schedules, Equipment Orientation Schedules, Material Requisitions, and Specification Checklists.
Ensure all generated documents comply with contractual and company standards.
Project Coordination :
Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Field Team, and Clients to produce coordination and installation drawings.
Conduct quality control on CAD drawings to ensure compliance with contract documents, efficiency in routing options, and proper hanger placements.
Site Visits and RFIs :
Visit assigned projects twice per month to gain insights into installation methods for cost-saving improvements.
Generate RFIs to identify and address project conflicts with proposed resolutions.
Internal and External Communication :
Attend all internal and external meetings related to CAD design tasks, including Estimating Turnover, Field Turnover, and BIM coordination meetings.
Maintain constructive communication and foster positive relationships with contractors, engineers, clients, vendors, and team members.
Qualifications and Requirements :
Minimum of 4+ years of experience with CAD software
Minimum 4+ years of working in the mechanical / piping trades.
Spool Drawings, Fabrication Drawings, or relevant experience(preferred).
Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
Proactive problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and contract documents.
