The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing significant amounts of new business, while maintaining long term relationships with our current clients and allies.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a Chemistry, Biology or related science discipline with > 7 years' of Sales experience in the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical Outsourcing marketplace or at least 5 years tenure at Boston Analytical. History of success gaining new clients and new client revenue. Formal Sales training preferred. Capable of managing larger national level accounts that exceed 2M in annual revenue. Previous laboratory experience with analytical and/or microbiology testing preferred. Successful candidate will have strong presentation, communication, analytical and customer service skills. Must be a highly motivated and organized individual with the ability to work autonomously. Attending professional networking meetings before and after normal business hours may be required. Travel within the U.S. Strong negotiation skills.
An understanding of the following: USP Microbiological Procedures, HPLC / GC, Dissolution, Method Validation, Extractables and Leachables testing, Product Release and Stability Testing and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's). Characterization of Biologic drug forms, including LBP's.
Strong business acumen and sharp sales skills
