Purpose
Reports to the Senior Director of Security and Emergency Management. Manages development, publication, dissemination and assessment of business continuity plans and processes for the Office of Security and Emergency Management. Works in alignment with SVP / COO communications portfolio to promote engagement and department visibility.
Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Five years experience in business continuity or related fields, developing business continuity plans and collaborating with organization stakeholders. Ability to work both independently at times and collaboratively with colleagues spread across multiple departments, including members of university leadership. Strong writing, editing and verbal communications skills. Ability to manage multiple projects at once while delivering on deadlines. Ability to work with sensitive university information. Ability to manage a small team of coordinators to achieve a common goal.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree. Seven years of experience in business continuity or business resilience-related fields. Holds a Certified Business Continuity Professional or equivalent certificate. Strong knowledge of business continuity processes, including risk assessments, business impact analysis, continuity planning, and recovery strategy development. Experience in large higher education institutions. Experience as a both a team leader and a team member. Experience working with executive-level leadership.
Driving Required
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
