Job description
A company is looking for a HIM Certified Coder responsible for accurate coding of hospital encounters.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately code all records using appropriate classification systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCs)
Provide interdepartmental coding assistance and develop compliant coding methodologies
Facilitate external audit activities and maintain coding certification and knowledge
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D
Certification as a Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) or equivalent coding certifications
Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPC coding rules and guidelines
Experience with coding software and data entry
Understanding of medical science, anatomy, and physiology
