POSITION SUMMARY

The Principal Cloud Data Engineer is a hands-on role and will liaise with product org and PO/PM to design, build and maintain reliable, scalable data products/data pipelines and core data platform components that power analytics, ML, and applications. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality data across the organization.

DESCRIPTION:

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain high-throughput data pipelines and ingestion workflows.
  • Implement transformation logic, data quality checks, and governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with platform architecture and product teams to support the foundational data platform roadmap.
  • Optimize data flows for performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Monitor platform health and troubleshoot ingestion or processing issues.
  • Build reusable components that scale across markets and business units.
  • Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • 7+ years of data engineering/ development experience.
  • Strong hands-on skills with Python, SQL, Spark, or cloud-native data processing tools.
  • Experience with data lakes, lakehouses, or cloud-based warehouses.
  • Knowledge of data quality, metadata, lineage, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Strong verbal communication skills; strong writing and composition abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective and professional relationships across the organization and with customers.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • Working on-site at assigned office location.
  • Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.
  • Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.
  • Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations.
  • Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.
  • Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.
  • Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
