Client in Odessa, TX is seeking a :

CNC Operator – Industrial Insulation Manufacturing

Position Summary

The CNC Operator is responsible for running our Profilematic III 1530-C CNC Profiler, designed and built by ESCO Group Inc. This position supports the production of precision-cut industrial insulation products by operating and maintaining CNC equipment, interpreting cutting programs, and ensuring product accuracy and quality. The CNC Operator works closely with the Shop Foreman and shop hands to keep workflow efficient and organized.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor the Profilematic III 1530-C CNC Profiler to cut insulation materials according to job specifications.
  • Load and unload material onto the CNC bed, ensuring proper alignment and safety at all times.
  • Read, interpret, and follow Excel worksheets and job sheets for production orders.
  • Verify material dimensions and product counts with strong math and measurement skills .
  • Operate band saws and shop tools as needed for pre- or post-production trimming.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Shop Foreman regarding schedule, material needs, and quality control issues.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration checks.
  • Troubleshoot basic operational issues and report mechanical or software problems immediately.
  • Assist with boxing finished products and loading / unloading trucks when required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret Excel spreadsheets, production drawings, and measurement charts.
  • Familiarity with computer software used to operate CNC profiling equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming preferred but not required.
  • Strong math, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Competence with hand tools, band saws, and shop equipment.
  • Dependable, safety-minded, and able to follow directions closely.
  • Physical ability to lift to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Work Environment

  • Industrial manufacturing shops with CNC machinery, insulation materials, and power tools.
  • Safety PPE (gloves, glasses, ear protection) required at all times.
  • Exposure to nuisance dust (non-hazardous), noise, and repetitive tasks.
