Research Scientist ISurgery – Oncology

Summary
Research Scientists I are individuals holding a PhD or equivalent terminal degree who play a major role in enabling the Surgical Oncology & Endocrinology research program through collaborative and collegial interactions with faculty, fellows, graduate students, staff and other collaborators. The Research Scientist I will be responsible for leading and facilitating artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) research projects for the Division. This role will oversee research projects, publications, and ensure compliance with federal and institutional requirements.
The primary responsibility of the Research Scientist I will be to execute AI- and ML-driven studies, write manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals, and collaborate with clinical teams to integrate AI / ML solutions in the Division. The position may also involve cross-functional collaboration with data scientists, clinicians, and bioinformatics to enhance projects and to facilitate execution of research goals.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related field with a focus on AI and ML applications in healthcare.
