JOB SUMMARY
Works under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice President, Information Security, the Enterprise Cybersecurity Architect is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and oversight of secure architectures across UT Southwestern's clinical, research, academic, and administrative environments. This role ensures that cybersecurity is embedded into the design of all critical systems‿including AI / ML platforms, enterprise applications, cloud infrastructure, and on-prem environments. The architect provides strategic and technical leadership in designing scalable, secure, and compliant solutions that align with institutional business goals, regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, CJIS, etc.), and enterprise risk tolerance. The role will serve as a key advisor to executive leadership and collaborate across IT, security, and business teams to proactively reduce institutional cyber risk.
Candidates must live in the DFW commute area, no relocation can be provided. This hybrid role requires coming into the office at least 1 day a week.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
5 years of enterprise architecture or cybersecurity design experience, including cloud and on-prem systems.
2 years in a senior or enterprise-level architecture role leading large-scale, complex environments.
(CISSP) CERT INFO SYSTEMS SECURTY PROF within 1 Year or
Cloud security certification (e.g., CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer). within 1 Year
Preferred
Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related discipline.
Experience leading security architecture for academic medical centers or large research institutions.
