As a member of our Credits, Incentives and Methods (CIM) group, you will be performing tax consulting and advisory services related to Research and Development (R&D) tax credits. These services involve performing R&D tax credit studies, quantifying R&D activities and costs, compiling proper documentation and support and developing an overall methodology to assist the company in quantifying and supporting past, current and future credits. In addition, you will be responsible forassisting with IRS and federal and state controversy and appeals related to the R&D credit. As a member of the FCI (Federal Credits and Incentives) team, you will be interacting with both internal tax professionals and external client stakeholders.
You will be responsible for the following job duties which are focused around two core concepts : your technical and quality expertise and delivering excellent client service :
Perform tax planning and research, resolving complex tax issues, and giving recommendations to clients, as it relates specifically to the R&D credit
Generate and sustain client relationships
Assist in managing and implementing multiple projects simultaneously, which include client interviews, computations, analysis, data gathering, and coordination of resources
Draft opinion letters, responses to IRS inquiries, IRS Ruling requests, and writing other technical memoranda
Develop an understanding of client's business and become a "functional expert" in the area
Help drive the success of multiple R&D engagements
Contribute as an industry expert by keeping abreast of changes in industry regulation, maintain competency through continuing education and obtaining additional professional certifications
Basic Qualifications :
Requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in public accounting, or a combination of public accounting and industry / law
Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with research and development credits
Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Tax
Requires certification and current licensure as one of the following : CPA, JD, or Enrolled Agent
Intermediate skills in MS Excel and Access
Requires ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Preferred Qualifications :
Masters in Accounting
Experience working for large national accounting firm in a specialized practice area

The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range : $97,200 - $183,700
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
