Job Summary
The Design Engineer at Kform will be responsible for the design, prototyping, and testing of innovative products in a multidisciplinary environment that integrates mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and software engineering.
The Design Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that products meet our high standards for performance, functionality, and quality. Candidates will be evaluated and placed into Level I, Level II, or Lead roles based on their experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products, creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (primarily SolidWorks for MCAD and Altium for ECAD).
- Participate in the prototyping phase by utilizing a variety of fabrication methods and tools to create physical models for evaluation and testing.
- Develop and implement embedded software to integrate mechanical and electronic systems within product designs.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of prototypes, ensuring products meet rigorous standards for reliability, durability, and safety.
- Document design changes, test results, and development processes for future reference and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as manufacturing, quality control, and research and development to optimize product performance and manufacturability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance design processes, reduce costs, and improve product performance.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, depending on the level of the role.
