KGNS+ is looking for a dynamic weekend anchor / multimedia journalist to join our newsroom. The ideal candidate will anchor and co-produce our English weekend evening newscasts and reports three days per week.

This candidate will anchor our evening weekend newscasts and work as a multimedia journalist three days out of the week. As the weekend anchor, you are responsible for overseeing and assisting the producer on all aspects of the newscasts, including : stacking the rundown, writing copy for stories, ordering graphics to fit stories, coordinating live shots with directors, and directing production staff, reporters & photographers.

Duties / Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :

• Prioritizes, organizes, and produces newscasts following the station's brand and goals
• Responsible for writing clearly, concisely, and very conversationally
• Must maintain a working knowledge of current events, community issues, and contacts
• Must come to morning / afternoon meetings with enterprise story ideas each day
• Accurate video editing with an eye for visual elements and graphics that make stories understandable to the viewer
• Responsible for developing original story ideas for daily newscasts
• Special emphasis on working with management on story treatment and being able to accurately gather information for news stories under deadline pressure
• Acts as a leader in facilitating teamwork among staff members working on daily newscasts
• Able to accurately and calmly handle the decision-making process, especially in the control room
• Responsible for writing and posting stories and videos to the station's digital platforms
• Regularly produce news documentaries, cut-ins, and other special programs, as assigned
• Participate in editorial meetings and make decisions on the same day and the next day's content
